This year we have more (and bigger) prizes for single shots and for series, as well as two special prizes.
We can also offer portfolio reviews and a chance for an up and coming photographer to get their foot on the professional ladder. And there’ll be an exhibition and awards event where you can meet other entrants and some professionals.
Cash prizes
The prize structure is still being added to, but this year we have slightly bigger prizes. £100 prize for the best single shot and £75 for the best series per age category for under 12s, 12-18 year olds, 19-34 years old, 35-65 years old, and over 65s. There will also special extra £150 prize for the image that best illustrates the Peel Institute’s mission by best illustrating Community Street Life. Also an extra £150 prize donated by Central District Alliance to illustrate Work Street Life.
Professional help
Some of the most promising or keenest entrants will receive advice and help from local photographers and agents, and one or two entrant can spend a day shadowing a professional to get a glimpse into the real world of professional photography.
